The short version: This is great and I cannot recommend it enough! If you're on the fence about it because of the price tag, it is well worth every penny. For one cat, one container lasted us 6 weeks. Start with small doses, about 1/4 of a scoop twice a day, and adjust as needed. That's what worked for both of our cats. Your cat may react differently, so always watch for changes in your cat's behavior and listen to what it's telling you.
The long version:
I have tried both the food topper and the oil, and with both of my cats the food topper was far more effective than the oil. With my beloved 17-year-old sweet snuggle baby, she had anxiety, intestinal lymphoma, and the beginnings of mild arthritis in her low back and left hip. Sadly, she lost her battle with the lymphoma a few weeks ago. I started her on CBD over a year ago as a supplement to her prescription anxiety medication, the oral steroid for her intestines, and to help her body deal with any pain and inflammation from the onset of arthritis and just from being an old lady. The oil drops, also purchased here, didn't seem to have much of an effect on her. With the Food Topper, I noticed an immediate improvement in her activity level, demeanor, and comfort, right through to her final moments. I'm so grateful that Petly managed to get this out when they did, as it made a huge difference in her quality of life in those final months.
We also have a 4-year-old cat that was a stray we rescued off the street when she was about 6 months old. She is very high strung and is known to have a lot of insecurity, and does a lot of marking as a result. We presently have 5 litter boxes for one cat, so it's not a matter of not having enough. She also gets overstimulated from petting easily and is quick to bite when she's had enough. We started giving her CBD at the same time as my then 16-year-old, and it's made such a difference for her as well. She is much more calm, confident, tolerant of touch, affectionate, and mellow. Her territorial marking has stopped completely. She is obsessed with food, as you can imagine, and we were concerned CBD would only exacerbate the issue. If anything, it's had the opposite effect. She's pestering us for food much less often (she's on a set feeding schedule), and just seems much more content, happy, and comfortable with her life.
